'Talking Trash'

Scrap Mettle SOUL ensemble once again brings stories of urban life to the stage. "Talking Trash," opening Thursday, April 24, is a whimsical look at the underside of a neighborhood. See (and hear) stories from the garbage, the alleyways, the sanitation workers, and the occasional dirty secret. Based on interviews with residents of Uptown and Edgewater, the stories tell us that if we face our messes bravely we can be transformed, and bring change to our lives and our community.
Over 50 actors, age 6 to 92, perform at Margate Park, 4921 N. Marine Dr., through May 4. For tickets ($10), call (773) 275-3999 or visit www.scrapmettlesoul.org.
