The New City YMCA, in association with the Jamaican Government of Tourism, is sending 30 neighborhood children to Montego Bay, Jamaica, June 29 through July 3 for a once in a lifetime opportunity. These children will participate in soccer tournaments, receive instruction from renowned soccer layers, have FUN and see the world.
The 30 children receiving scholarships, consist of a well-funded team that represents the diverse membership population of New City YMCA. The New City YMCA also left slots available for youth that require skill development.
The program incorporates the Jamaican “meet the people” program. The children will swap cultures with the youth of Jamaica in an exchange program. The intent is for a group of Jamaican children to then visit New City YMCA’s Cub’s Care Park to play baseball in the summer of 2004.
In order to make this first-ever expedition a success, the New City YMCA must raise funds. To donate, call (312) 440-7272.
