The Beach Shack is a fun and casual bistro that offers a wide array of eclectic, American entrees that will satisfy any hunger craving with big portions and big flavors.
Recently relocated to the heart of Lincoln Park at 2534 N. Clark St., the restaurant is run by chef/owner Jeremy Lieberman who reaches deep into his culinary bag to create savory lunches and dinners.
"I want to give my customers what they want," Lieberman said. "I want to make a connection with everyone."
Appetizers include Buffalo Bites, boneless, crispy, and gently fried chicken nuggets tossed in a mouth-watering homemade Honey Buffalo Sauce with bleu cheese; Golden Pagoda, three pieces of perfectly fried cod that is flaky and served with a delicate vinegar soy ponzu sauce; and Veggie Bites, fried crispy and served with a homemade Pina Colada Dipping Sauce.
House specialties include a Salmon Teriyaki Dinner that is prepared by lightly brushing fresh salmon with a homemade teriyaki glaze before char-grilling it; it is served on a bed of steamed rice, and accompanied by a fresh oriental salad. The Sloppy Joe "kick-ass sandwich" is the best in town, prepared with lean meat, fresh onions and green peppers, and served with hot fries. The Blackened Hamburger is a combination of 1/3 pound of grade A beef and house herbs and spices, which is then seared to perfection. A delectable Mardi Gras Mayo is added to the bun, and the house signature Cheddar Mashed Potatoes are served on the side (which will satisfy any mashed potato fan, guaranteed!).
Other specials include Chicken 'n' Gravy, Hot Roast Beef 'n' Gravy, Fish and Chips, Bacon and Roast Beef Club Sandwich, Pina Colada Chicken, Veggie Burgers, and more.
Soups and salads are also on the menu. Try the delightful Asian Noodle Soup, or the meal-in-itself Caesar Salad with either grilled chicken breast or grilled wild Alaska salmon.
Refreshing and healthy smoothies and shakes are the best on the block. Also available is an array of soft drinks, but you can BYOB.
There's so much on the menu that you may never order the same thing twice! The Beach Shack, at (773) 525-5000, is open seven days a week and has delivery service.
