Romantic comedy stars local actors
"The Tender Trap," the tale of a bachelor who finds himself engaged to two girls at the same time, opens July 24 at Northeastern Illinois University's Stage Center Theatre, Building F, 5500 N. St. Louis Ave. The show is performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, through Aug. 9. Marooned on a deserted ship
The fourth annual Silent Summer Film Festival begins Friday, July 18, with Buster Keaton (pictured) and Kathryn McGuire starring in the 1924 classic comedy "The Navigator." With live accompaniment by Dennis Scott on the pipe organ, the film plays at 8 p.m. at the Gateway Theatre, 5216 W. Lawrence Ave. Enjoy pre-show entertainment by Chicago's own West End Jazz Band.
