Gordon Tech High School names new principal

Gordon Tech High School, a 50-year-old Catholic co-educational college preparatory secondary school on the northwest side of Chicago, has named an experienced educator as principal.
William R. Watts, Ph.D., 59, principal of St. Ignatius College Prep on W. Roosevelt Rd. for the past five years, will return to Gordon Tech as principal where he once served as assistant principal and director of guidance. He succeeds Jo Ann M. Rapp, Ph.D., who will rejoin St. Joseph High School, Westchester, as principal where she was a division chair and faculty member.
Gordon Tech, established in 1952, is the first high-tech coeducational Catholic college prep school in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The school is completing its first academic year educating both men and women. Gordon Tech is sponsored by the Congregation of the Resurrection, a Roman Catholic religious order of priests and brothers. The school has earned a national reputation as college prep school with an emphasis on the art of technology within a Catholic environment. The seven-acre Gordon Tech campus is located on the north branch of the Chicago River at 3633 N. California Ave.
