Chicago SummerDance for Kids

The third annual Chicago SummerDance for Kids—a special mini-series of ethnic dance lessons designed for kids ages 5 and older and their families—is scheduled every Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. through Aug. 30 on the open-air dance floor of the Spirit of Music Garden, 601 S. Michigan Ave. Admission is free, and in the event of rain, class will be cancelled for that afternoon. Professional dance instructors will lead young people through one-hour dance lessons to recorded or acoustic in West African dance, samba, breakdancing, Irish step, Cajun, zydeco, bhangra, Mexican zapateado, Bosnian folk, flamenco, West Indian folk and mambo.
Chicago SummerDance for Kids is organized by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the Old Town School of Folk Music.
