The Lincoln Park Business Development Institute (LPBDI) and DePaul University's Entrepreneurship Program announce the fall offering of their business start-up course that helps people plan and launch a new business.
Entitled Start Up, Chicago!, the 10-week course covers the steps necessary to start a business and develop a business plan for a new venture. The course includes classroom instruction, guest entrepreneurs, technical experts, case studies, and business plan assignments.
Start Up, Chicago! will be conducted on the Lincoln Park campus of DePaul University from 6 to 9:15 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 15 through Nov. 17. Participants will be notified of the room and building upon receipt of their registration. Discounted parking will be available on the DePaul campus, which is located one block west of the Fullerton el stop.
Raman Chadha, an entrepreneurial consultant and faculty member at DePaul University, will teach the course. Guest speakers will include successful entrepreneurs from Chicago and experts in areas such as law, accounting, and marketing. The final class will include business plan presentations to a review panel of start-up investors and industry experts.
Start Up, Chicago! is a non-credit course, targeted to people who have an innovative business idea, are unemployed, are curious about self-employment, and /or plan to start a new business. The tuition of $475 includes all materials. For more information, and to register, please call (773) 880-5200.
The LPBDI is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that stimulates economic and business development in Lincoln Park through educational seminars and resources. The organization is an affiliate of the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce. DePaul University's Entrepreneurship Program is consistently ranked among the top entrepreneurship programs in the nation. It recently received a $2.5 million gift from the Coleman Foundation to establish an entrepreneurship center at DePaul's Loop campus.
