Everyman Theatre Company performs 'Simon' at Bailiwick

Everyman Theatre Company, a new company comprised of professional artists from across the country, just opened the new play "Simon," by Jack Rucker. In this show, the conflicting motivation and arc of the various characters brings us to a surprising and horrifying conclusion. "Simon" plays Friday and Saturday nights at 10 p.m., through Aug. 17, in the Bailiwick Loft, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets are $10, and the show runs just over an hour.
The show tells the story of a peaceful man who has lived his entire life with the fear that he has a great and horrifying power, the power to cause bad things to happen. The story begins years after the lone incident that has plagued Simon to become a recluse and run from the society he wishes to protect from himself. After refusing the help of a seemingly selfless Doctor who has offered to treat Simon pro bono for the rights to study and write about Simon, Simon meets a girl. What happens next is the oldest tale in human history...but with a wonderful twist ending that may leave the audience unsettled and aghast at the lengths people will go and the sacrifices they will make to get what they want.
