The 18th Annual Bucktown Arts Fest will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24, in Senior Citizens Park at the corner of Oakley and Lyndale avenues (2300 North/2300 West). A mix of visual art and the performing arts—poetry, music, dance and theatre—make the Fest unique. Admission is free.
Over 170 visual artists will participate in this juried event. They are selected based on the quality of their work and clearness of their artistic vision, and cover a broad spectrum of media—paintings, jewelry, fine art, and handcrafted items. The Fest features work by Carl Vogtmann, photographer; work by Anne Leuck Feldhaus, painter; and work by Laura Kostka, ceramist, among many others.
The Bucktown Arts Fest has a free admission policy and is produced entirely by volunteers, many of whom reside in the community.
Anyone interested in volunteering can call (312) 409-8305 or e-mail artsfest@enteract.com for more information.
