Up, up and away
Students of St. Matthias/Transfiguration School top off their first day of school Aug. 25 by blowing bubbles and watching them soar—symbolizing their hopes for a successful year at the school, 4910 N. Claremont Ave. Some 225 students, from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade, were joined by parents and faculty on the playground after a school assembly that included a prayer service and introduction of the new student council. Mary Stachura is principal of the school and Father Terry Keehan is pastor of St. Matthias and Transfiguration parishes.
