Dayton St. rape rallies friends and family $30,000 reward offered

Dayton Street Rapist Sketch
A 34-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on Sunday, Aug. 10, at 3:30 a.m.and beaten in the 1900 block of N. Burling St. The victim was taken to Lincoln Park Hospital where she was treated for broken facial bones.
Friends and family are shocked that the incident happened in the gentrified Old Town neighborhood where walking at anytime is considered safe by many residents. They are offering a $30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the offender.
The unknown assailant is described as a white/Hispanic male, 25-30 years of age, 5'5" to 5'9", with a stocky build, short black hair and medium complexion.
The victim was walking home from a nearby tavern when she was pushed from behind. She fell to the sidewalk, hitting her head on the cement. The offender was uninterested in her purse. He threw it away when she gave it to him and told her to shut up. The offender beat her with his fists and threatened to kill her.
