Chicago attorney Stephen M. Komie, who resides in Lincoln Park, was elected treasurer of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) by his fellow members on the Association's Board of Governors. He will serve a one-year term through June 2004.
Komie, a principal of Komie & Associates and a well-known criminal defense lawyer, has tried some of Illinois' more high-profile criminal and matrimonial cases. A member of the ISBA since 1973, he has been a board member since 1992. Komie received his J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1976. He attended the National College of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Public Defenders in 1978. |
