After playing to sold-out houses earlier this summer at The Improv Olympic, "The Bicycle Men" return to Chicago in their original "tour de farce" musical. Very funny and surreal, "Le Comedie du Bicyclette" will play through Sept. 28 only at the Lakeshore Theater, 3175 N. Broadway. "Le Comedie du Bicyclette" is the story of an American cyclist whose visit to a quaint French village turns into a surreal comedic nightmare. Arrogant bicycle repairmen, a perverted puppeteer, the "Most Disgusting Cabaret Artist in the World" and a host of other characters inhabit this tunefully demented show. For the return engagement in Chicago, the production values have been modestly augmented, including a slapstick-inspired multi-door set. |
