Two incidents of attempted kidnapping were reported by mothers of pre-teen males when their children ran away from a suspicious male at 1:35 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 22, in the 1100 block of W. Belmont Ave.
The first victim was walking home on Belmont Ave. when he was approached by a white male between 30 and 35 years old, 6' and 170 lb., with a light brown mustache and wearing a dark brown windbreaker, glasses, and a backpack.
The offender asked if the victim wanted to "fool around." He continued to follow the victim and asked if he wanted to "go into the alley" with him. The victim evaded the offender and ran home where his mother called police.
The other victim was approached in front of his residence about the same time. Both victims attend the same school in the 3200 block of N. Broadway and were walking home independently of each other.
