Old Town architecture tour

Old Town is full of architectural treasures. If you don't know where to find them, volunteer docents of the Chicago Architecture Foundation will show you on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. The tour begins at the Lincoln Park Zoo administration building (formerly the Chicago Academy of Science) at Clark St. and Armitage Ave. It continues for two hours past:
—Rowhouses designed by Louis Sullivan, mentor to Frank Lloyd Wright and architect of the Auditorium and the Carson Pirie Scott store.
—The home of Harry Weese, known for innovative work like the Swissotel, the Metropolitan Correctional Center, and the Washington, DC, Metro stations.
—The 19th-century Wacker mansion.
—A cottage by W.W. Boyington, architect of the Old Water Tower.
Tour admission is $10 (free to CAF members), payable to the CAF docent at the time of the tour.
