Applications for the Chicago Public Schools' magnet programs are available for the 2004-05 school year. Parents can pick up the Education Opportunities Guide, which includes the application, at CPS headquarters, 125 S. Clark St., and all CPS schools, as well as aldermanic offices, park district facilities and public libraries.
CPS has more than 300 selective enrollment, magnet, gifted and magnet cluster schools. Applications are due Dec. 19 for high schools and Jan. 16 for elementary schools. Notification letters will be mailed in February for high school students, March for elementary students selected by lottery and April for elementary students selected by testing.
