Dr. Peter Zid certified to design, implement strength training & conditioning programs

Dr. Peter F. Zid of Lincoln Park Chiropractic has earned the title of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certification Commission. The certification is designed for professionals who design and implement strength training and conditioning programs for athletes in a team setting.
To earn the CSCS credential, Dr. Zid passed a written exam that is prepared by experts in strength training and conditioning. The exam consists of two sections, Scientific Foundations and Practical/Applied. Currently, 65.1 percent of individuals who sit for the exam will typically pass.
"The CSCS program encourages a higher level of competence among practitioners, which, in turn, raises the quality and safety of the strength training and conditioning programs administered by those who are CSCS certified," said Dr. Tom Baechle, executive director of the NSCA Certification Commission.
The CSCS program was established in 1985 as a way to identify individuals who possess the knowledge and skills necessary to competently train athletes, and remains the only nationally-accredited strength and conditioning credential. Dr. Zid can be reached at (773) 248-2790.
