Helping Children's Memorial Hospital
RE/MAX offices and agents across northern Illinois collected donations totaling more than $20,000 for Children's Memorial Hospital as part of a special holiday season program. The RE/MAX network helped Children's Memorial raise funds to purchase the items identified in its Gift Book. The book contains everything from teddy bears and children's eyeglasses to electronic baby scales and physical rehab equipment, giving donors a sense of what their gifts might purchase.

Eleven months after the death of Antigone and the madness of King Creon, all is still not well in the city of Thebes. When a chorus of thousands appears outside the bedroom window of Ismene (Antigone's sister and the only surviving member of the tragic house of Oedipus) and blame her for their own miserable lives, she is unjustly banished far away to a school for unruly girls. It is within this school's dark and irreverent walls that the true nature of prophecy is revealed, and the final act of the tragedy of Oedipus and his children unfolds.

Cars for Kids donates $25,000 to CMH
Betsy Conway, Vehicle Donation Coordinator at Cars for Kids Foundation, stopped by to brighten the holidays for Children's Memorial Hospital patients when she presented Thomas J. Sullivan, president of the Children's Memorial Foundation, with a check for $25,000. The donation will be directed to the hospital's areas of greatest need.
Based in Lake Forest, the Cars for Kids Foundation raises funds from donated vehicles and uses these funds to provide financial support to children's causes in the Chicagoland area. For more information, call (866) 616-9393 or visit carsforkids.net.
"We chose Children's Memorial as one of our charities because of the number of children the hospital serves who come from throughout the Chicagoland area," said Betsy Conway.
Children's Memorial Hospital cared for more than 93,000 children in 2003. For the 11th consecutive year, Children's Memorial ranked among the nation's top pediatric hospitals.
