A rape on Saturday, Feb. 7, in Lincoln Park was linked by the Chicago Police Dept. to six others that have occurred since 1999. In all seven cases the offender entered an apartment through an open window or open door. Four of the related assaults occurred in the city, and two in the suburbs. The latest crime occurred in the 2000 block of N. Cleveland Ave. The assailant entered a ground floor condo through an unlocked window about 4 a.m. and raped a 23-year-old woman. The offender is described as a white Hispanic male, 27-33, 5’5” to 5’8”, 145-160 lb.
