The Chicago Police Department is investigating several armed robberies, which occurred in the 19th, 20th and 24th Districts.
The offenders enter a small business and point a gun at the cashier. The victims are ordered to open the cash register and hand over the money. The offenders have also taken Newport cigarettes during the robberies. The offenders flee on foot. The offenders have worked alone and in pairs.
The robberies have generally occurred in the evening and early morning hours, although there have been robberies at other times of the day. The offenders have robbed the same business more than once.
The incidents have occurred mostly along or near Damen and Devon avenues or Sheridan Rd.
Offender #1: Black male, 25 to 35, 5’8” to 5’11”, 150-170 lb., with black hair, brown eyes, a light complexion and a very thin beard and mustache. The offender has displayed a weapon while committing the robberies. He has been seen wearing a white hat and a white jacket during some of the robberies.
Offender #2: Black male, 27 to 33, 5’10 to 6’1”, 160 to 180 lb., with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion.
These offenders are considered armed and dangerous.
