More than $15,000 is benefiting 15 educational, cultural and social service organizations, and the 23 distinct programs with which those organizations serve the Park West neighborhood, thanks to the distribution of the 2003 schedule of charitable contributions authorized by the Park West Community Association. Funds for these grants are primarily raised through the annual Antiques Fair, which is scheduled this year for June 5 and 6.
Organizations that serve children, families, the elderly, the homeless and other special populations were selected. The roster includes Abraham Lincoln Elementary School (three programs), Louisa May Alcott Elementary School (five programs), Lincoln Park High School (three programs), 19th District Police Explorer Post #9919, 19th District Senior Citizen Advisory Council, the After School Program, B.U.I.L.D. Inc., Kids in Danger, the Lakeview Pantry, the Night Ministry, St. Clement's Seniors, Tuesday's Child, the Cenacle, Friends of Park West Playlot and the Lincoln Park Juniors Rowing Team.
