Red Line to close briefly for improvements
The CTA Red Line subway will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, to 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, to permit the installation of telecommunications cables. Once the new cables are operative, cell phones, email, wireless Internet, paging and text messaging will be possible within the tunnels. Red Line trains will be re-routed between Fullerton Ave. and Roosevelt Rd, and will stop at Loop stations. Riders can transfer to Brown, Orange, Green and Blue Line trains at Clark/ Lake.
Buses will shuttle along Fullerton, North/ Clybourn, Clark/ Division, Chicago, Grand, Lake, Washington, Monroe, Jackson, Harrison and Roosevelt.
