Both the men's and women's basketball teams from DePaul University will participate in the NCAA tournament this year. For the men's team (21-9), this is the first bid since 2000; they are a No. 7 seed. At 8:40 p.m. Central Time Thursday, March 18, the Blue Demons of Conference USA will play Dayton of the Atlantic 10 in Buffalo, NY. The game will be televised on CBS, and heard on 670 AM radio as well.
DePaul's Dave Leitao is in his second season with the Blue Demons and his fourth as a head coach. If the Blue Demons win, they will then face the winner of the Connecticut - Vermont matchup.
The women's team (22-6) has averaged 85.3 points and 14.1 steals per game. They will play against George Washington in Tallahassee, FL, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Central Time Saturday, March 20. This game will be televised on ESPN 2.
