Gordon Tech presents ?My Fair Lady?

Gordon Tech Theatre invites the public to their production of “My Fair Lady,” about an insufferably arrogant linguist who transforms a flower selling Cockney guttersnipe into a regal lady. This quintessential musical, scored by Lerner and Loewe, is based on George Bernard Shaw’s 1913 play “Pygmalion.”
Egotistical linguist Professor Henry Higgins bets his friend, Colonel Hugh Pickering, that he can transform Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle in time for an important society ball. His gamble could pay off—but the spirited Eliza is more of a handful than the Professor could have predicted. As she slowly becomes more refined, and less reliant upon him, Higgins realizes, to his confusion, that he can’t live without her.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays: April 23 & 24, and April 30 & May 1, at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee April 25 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 per person, and can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling (773) 539-3600, ext. 365. Proceeds go to further the work of the GTHS Drama Department. Gordon Tech Theatre is located at 3633 N. California Ave., between Addison St. and Irving Park Rd., with the entrance located off the main parking lot on the north side of the Building.
Also, Gordon Tech Parents’ Organization will present their Dinner/ Theatre Package on Saturday, April 24, featuring a catered dinner from Biancalana’s Restaurant, followed by priority seating for the GT Theatre’s performance of Lerner and Loewe's “My Fair Lady.” Dinner in GT’s California Café will feature a chicken dish or a vegetarian entrée, dessert and beverage. It will begin promptly at 6 p.m. with a surprise raffle at 7 p.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit students who have lost a parent during the school year.
