Fight to cap property taxes

A real estate tax reform rally hosted by Alderman Gene Schulter (47th Ward) and sponsored by a coalition of elected officials and community organizations from across Illinois will be held on Monday, April 19, 7 pm, at Amundsen High School, 5110 North Damen Ave. (free parking available in the rear).
The guest speaker will be Cook County Assessor Jim Houlihan who is scheduled to discuss his support for the 7% solution, the legislation pending in Springfield intended to cap assessment increases to 7% per year.
