New parking garage at Illinois Masonic eases congestion

Making parking easier for patients
Herminia Ramos, who works in the security office at the hospital, is joined by Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical president Susan Nordstrom Lopez. Ramos drove her car through a ribbon to open the new South Parking Garage at the hospital. The new structure adds 479 additional parking spaces to the hospital campus.
Advocate Illinois Masonic officially opened its new South Parking Garage last week. The parking structure, at 929 W. Wellington Ave., provides an additional 479 parking spaces for hospital associates and will help alleviate the parking congestion in the hospital's other parking facilities and in the neighborhood.
Although the garage will be designated exclusively for associate and medical residents, it will help in the reallocation of other parking lots for the better use of patients and visitors. "By moving their cars to the new garage, associates will free up many parking spaces, particularly in the West and East garages that are closest to the hospital for the convenience of patients and visitors," says Jim Feazel, director of Building Services at Illinois Masonic.
