Dogs on Damen: Adopt a pet at Lincoln Park Savings Bank

Pets and people come together, as Lincoln Park Savings Bank and many of Chicago's largest animal shelters team up to help hundreds of lovable animals find new homes during National Pet Adoption Month in May. The weekend event, which will be held at Lincoln Park Savings Bank on May 14 through May 16, will be a first of its kind in Chicago.
The hours for the event will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. It takes place at 4035 N. Damen Ave., in the parking lot at the corner of Damen and Cuyler avenues.
"For many, pets are an important part of the family," says Peter Volpe, Vice President at Lincoln Park Savings Bank. "We're proud to be a host and sponsor for an event that is the first of its kind in our area. Our hope is that this will be the first of an annual event."
The animal shelters that have, so far, committed to the event are: Anti-Cruelty Society, Chicago Animal Care and Control, Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation, Lake Shore Animal Shelter, and PAWS. The event will showcase over 200 animals and will also include local pet vendors who will donate a portion of their proceeds to the participating shelters.
"An event like this is a great opportunity to bring pets and potential pet owners together," said Gene Mueller, president of the Anti-Cruelty society of Chicago, "and it also helps to raise awareness to a need that certainly deserves attention."
Lincoln Park Savings Bank is a community bank headquartered on the North Side of Chicago. LPSB has been a provider of financial products and services for the neighbors of the North Center community for over 55 years. For more information, visit lpsb.com.
