Children's Memorial event needs volunteers
Children's Memorial Hospital needs 1,000 volunteers for Chicago Sun-Times Kids' Day, benefiting the patients and families of the hospital. Volunteers throughout the community will sell a special Kids' Day edition of the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper for a $1 donation. Net proceeds benefit Children's Memorial. Volunteer on your own or sign up with a group of friends or co-workers.
The event runs Thursday, June 10, during the morning rush: 6 a.m. - 9 a.m., at intersections, train stations, el stops, and corporate lobbies throughout the Chicago area.
The event is designed to raise funds for and awareness of the programs and services at Children's Memorial Hospital.
Children's Memorial Hospital is recognized as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country, and number one in Illinois, by rankings published in U.S. News & World Report. Its physicians are faculty members at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Each year Children's Memorial cares for more than 93,000 patients at locations throughout Chicago and the suburbs.
