Two armed robberies with a gun within minutes

A 30-year-old female student was walking southbound on Winchester Ave. at 9:20 p.m. May 14. As she approached Foster Ave., she noticed two black males in a white four door vehicle stopping and looking at her. She entered the alley and headed east. The vehicle apparently circled the block and entered the alley from the opposite end, and both men got out.
The driver, holding what appeared to be a gun wrapped in cloth, said, “Give me your money.” She responded, ”I have no money, I’m just going to the store.” “Give me your money or I’ll shoot you,“ he said. Meanwhile, the second man was serving as a look-out. She gave the gunman $20, and he told her to run and not look back or he’d shoot her. The car drove off and the student walked to a nearby liquor store to call police.
While police were making a report, a similar robbery occurred in the alley in the 5000 block of N. Lincoln Ave. In this case, a 23-year-old female photographer was walking eastbound on Winnemac Ave. at the entrance to a north-south alley. The two men stepped out of the vehicle. The first approached her from the front and then went behind her. The second approached her from behind.
The first said,” Don’t look at my face. I have a gun. We both have weapons. I need all your cash.” She said, "I don't have any money," and she showed them her empty purse. At this time the first offender had a light blue gym sock attached to his hand pointed towards her back. This man told her to go further into the alley and she said no. He then said, “Don’t look back at my face, “ and the offenders fled in the vehicle.
The men were 18-22, 6’, 160-180 lb., with shaved heads and no facial hair.
