The 18 th annual “ Chicago’s Finest Painted Ladies” competition begins Memorial Day. This is a search of area residences and commercial properties that have been repainted imaginatively by their owners. The search continues through the summer; the last date to enter is Labor Day, Sept. 6.
Homes painted after Labor Day 2003 through Labor Day 2004 are eligible. Homes and commercial properties within a 50-mile radius of Chicago can enter. The two categories are professional and non-professional.
Entries will be judged by how the paint and colors chosen were used to enhance the appearance of the property. Also taken into consideration is how well the colors fit the neighborhood or area that surrounds the structure. Most important is imaginative use of color and interesting application.
