About PAWS Chicago
Founded in 1997, PAWS Chicago is the city's largest no-kill humane organization working to alleviate Chicago's tragic pet overpopulation problem—thousands of dogs and cats were euthanized in 2003 alone. PAWS Chicago envisions a no-kill Chicago—a city in which healthy and treatable pets are not destroyed just because they are homeless. PAWS Chicago saves thousands of homeless pets through its innovative adoption and humane education programs and countless more through the Lurie Family Spay/Neuter Clinic, which serves Chicago's neediest pets with free spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and health checks.
