A young opera company, Intimate Opera, will perform Verdi's tragic opera "Rigoletto" June 11-13 in Grace United Methodist Church of Logan Square, 3325 W. Wrightwood Ave. Intimate Opera recognizes the potential, talent and artistry of young local performers and has double cast "Rigoletto" with a total of 28. Among the North Siders performing on Saturday are Gilda: Kimberly Robinson; Duke: Bradley Schuller; and Monterone: D. Todd VonFelker. On Friday and Sunday, hear Gilda: Erika Bucholz, and Maddalena: A.J. Wester. Nancy Henninger is the producer and artistic director.
Performance times will be Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. The performances are fully staged and costumed, in a 1920s style, and feature piano accompaniment. Sung in Italian, the opera has supertitles in English.
