Every city has computer technicians who come to the rescue when a PC crashes or a virus cleanup is required, but until recently there has been no national service provider capable of serving the computer needs of both home and small business users. That is changing with Computer Moms/CM IT Solutions, a national franchise now open in Chicago that not only keeps home and business computer systems up and running but also provides services ranging from wireless networking and data recovery to Web conferencing and Web hosting.
"Home computer users need everything from training and shopping assistance to computer setup and troubleshooting. Small businesses need a one-stop technology advisor to take the place of in-house technology staff or costly outside consultants. Both kinds of clients want to be able to fulfill all of their technology needs from a single source to save time and headaches," said Suzy Beck, a local franchisee who formerly was a computer programmer for several Fortune 1000 companies. "We are the only national player that can provide that full range of services."
Beck has helped many confused customers learn how to access the internet, set up a whole system and even send e-mails. Among her satisfied Lincoln Park customers are Lincoln Park Financial Group at 2755 N. Lincoln Ave.; Mark Brown Photography at 1331 W. Fullerton Ave.; and Leitner Public Affairs at 2730 N. Mildred Ave.
Computer Moms offers training in computer applications such as Windows, Internet Explorer, Word, QuickBooks and ACT! as well as technical support. CM IT Solutions handles computer system maintenance and problem resolution as well as advanced business needs such as network and database design.
