With a new location in Lake View, I-GO gives people in the neighborhood access to two new, fuel-efficient cars (Honda Civics), conveniently located near the Belmont el stop. People who sign up for the I-GO service will be able to use the cars on an hourly basis, then simply return the vehicles to reserved spaces in Ann Sather's parking lot, 929 W. Belmont Ave.
The I-GO car-sharing service is designed for people who need access to a car, but want to avoid the hassle and expense of owning, insuring, and maintaining a vehicle. I-GO members simply call or use the I-GO Web site to reserve the vehicles. Then they access the cars using a specially coded keycard and pay hourly for the use of the vehicles. I-GO covers the cost of the car, parking, insurance, maintenance, and even gas.
