Lillstreet Art Center to host open house July 10

Lillstreet Art Center is completing its first year at its new location in Ravenswood. Come visit Chicago's largest Art Center, a 24,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that offers classes to over 1,000 students, both children and adults, in ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber, and jewelry and metalsmithing.
Lillstreet, nearly 30 years old, is launching new programs, an annual open-house, and new exhibitions. An eight week summer session begins July 6. There are expanded offerings in all departments - including a new fiber classroom for printing and dyeing, the first-time potter class for a sampling of basic ceramic skills, and a number of new jewelry classes - including the popular glass fusing workshops.
At the Summer Open House, Lillstreet will introduce four new jewelers in the gallery, host a fiber-art trunk show, run family workshops throughout the day in T-shirt printing, weaving and clay—and hold a BBQ and offer live entertainment! Come by July 10 from noon to 7 p.m.
Lillstreet Art Center is located at 4401 N. Ravenswood Ave. Gallery hours are: Monday - Friday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. For more information, call (773) 769-4226.
