A one-night-only event will feature Howard Levy and Fareed Haque in concert, with special guests Matthew Ganong on piano and Kalyan Pathak on tablas, Thursday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Berry Memorial UMC, 4754 N. Leavitt St.

Howard Levy, sometimes called the world's most advanced diatonic harmonica player, is a musician without limits. His musical adventures include journeys into jazz, pop, rock, world music, Latin, classical, folk, blues, and country. He has recorded hundreds of CDs, won a Grammy (1997), won a Joseph Jefferson Award (1986) for Best Original Music for a Play, and performed many times on American and European TV, radio and film.
Guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque enjoys a career that spans the spectrum of musical styles. Fareed's versatility has created a demand for him with prominent jazz and classical artists including Paquito D'Rivera, Dave Holland, Sting, Joe Henderson, Joe Zawinul, Javon Jackson, Cassandra Wilson, Kurt Elling, Lester Bowie, Arturo Sandoval, and many others.
Howard and Fareed will be performing solo and as an ensemble joined by classical piano player Matthew Ganong and tabla master Kalyan Pathak. This concert's venue, the sanctuary of Berry Memorial United Methodist Church ,will offer a fine setting for this acoustic performance.
