Geja's Cafe to feature Bonny Doon Winery at Winemaker Dinner

Geja's Cafe, 340 W. Armitage Ave., will host a fondue dinner paired with fine wines from the Bonny Doon Winery, one of Santa Cruz's most respected wineries, Monday, Dec. 6, at 5:30 p.m. A winery representative will be present to provide commentary and to answer questions. This event is part of Geja's Cafe's ongoing popular Winemaker Dinner series.
Bonny Doon's proprietor, Randall Grahm, has as much fun with the enterprise of winemaking as the relevant governmental agencies will allow. He enacts the appropriate cultural practices that will lead to the fullest expression of territory and variety in the wine, retaining as much of the natural qualities as possible through minimal cellar treatment.
"Our guests will view this dinner as an opportunity to visit Bonny Doon Winery without having to purchase an airline ticket. We see it as an occasion to learn, meet new friends and have a true tasting experience," said Kirby Matthews, Wine Director at Geja's Cafe.
The Winemaker Dinner is $58 per person and includes tastings of Bonny Doon's wines, Geja's Creamy Cheese Fondue, Luscious Beef Tenderloin and Chicken Breast Fondue, and Flaming Chocolate Fondue (tax and gratuity are also included). The evening begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. For reservations, call (773) 281-9101. Geja's Cafe is known for romantic fondue dining and an extensive list of fine but moderately-priced wines. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 5 to 10:30 p.m.; Friday, 5 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.; and Sunday, 4:30 to 10 p.m.
