The National Merit Scholarship Corporation of Evanston recently announced the semifinalists in its 50th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The semifinalists will have the opportunity to compete for Merit Scholarship awards that will be offered next spring. Semifinalists from Lincoln Park High School, 2001 N. Orchard St., include: Eve Alexander, Nathan Cohan, Sophia Darugar, Ian Feldman, Andrew Lawrence, Douglas Power, Jennifer Terrell and Roger Waite.
Further, LPHS senior James Mister was named as a semifinalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Program, a competitive scholarship program for black students supported by corporations, professional organizations, colleges and the National Merit Corporation which administers the Achievement Scholarship Program.
