One of Chicago's longest-running and most popular charity events is back again for 2005—with a few new twists! Jeff Lowe and Sussex & Reilly Century 21 present Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation's "A Night To Dream" Charity Auction and After Party, Friday, Feb. 11, at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave. Formerly known as "Dream Date," this year's event brings surprises, building on the fund-raiser's 13 years of extraordinary fun and generosity. More than 750 hip party-goers and generous philanthropists will come together for a night that promises to make dreams come true, both for party guests, and the more than 160,000 seriously-ill children Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation serves each year.
This year, groups of Starlight Starbright supporters known as Dream Teams have put together more than 20 remarkable packages including once-in-a-lifetime vacations, shopping extravaganzas, adventure excursions and personalized pampering—all up for live auction—and just in time for Valentine's Day! The evening will also include the new Dreamer's Draw Raffle, featuring 15 prizes valued at $500 to $2,500 including trips, shopping sprees and entertainment packages. American Airlines is a contributing sponsor. All proceeds from A Night To Dream will be used to bring Starlight's continual programs into the lives of seriously ill children, restoring the simple joys of childhood that serious illness takes away.
A Night To Dream kicks off at 6 p.m. with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Bidding on the Dream Team packages with Auctioneer Jeff Brown begins at 7:15 p.m., followed by the Dreamer's Draw Raffle drawings. After the auction, guests will hit the dance floor to enjoy live music by the band Big Fun, drinks and dancing at the After Party, sponsored by Lakeshore Funding. Catering will be provided by Le Cordon Bleu Program at The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.
Tickets for A Night to Dream are $45 per ticket in advance or $50 at the door. Valet parking is available. To reserve tickets in advance, visit starlightmidwest.org or call Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation at (312) 251-7827.
You don't have to attend A Night To Dream to help the tens of thousands of children Starlight Starbright serves throughout the Midwest. Dreamer's Draw Raffle tickets are available online for $25 each at starlightmidwest.org—and you don't have to be present to win. The Web site also includes information on how to make a contribution, volunteer, sponsor a Starlight Starbright program or child and other contribution opportunities. A Night to Dream hopes to raise $200,000 to brighten the lives of seriously ill children. Over the past 13 years, Dream Date has raised more than $1 million.
Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation enriches the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families through programs that provide fun, respite and a sense of community. The Midwest chapter focuses on services within the four-state region of Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. |
