TimeLine Theatre Company will present "Pravda," by Howard Brenton and David Hare and directed by Louis Contey, from Feb. 12 through March 26 at 615 W. Wellington Ave. Set in the booming 1980s, "Pravda" reveals a charming yet unscrupulous newspaper magnate as he acquires London's venerable Fleet Street newspapers and proceeds to transform them into entertaining rags that stretch the truth, control England's political agenda and of course, rake in profits. This hard-hitting urban satire, penned by two provocative playwrights, provides audiences with a skeptical look at the objectivity of our news.
Previews are Feb. 8—11 at 8 p.m. The regular run will be Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m.
The theatre is close to public transportation; paid parking lots are nearby; limited street parking is available. The ticket price is $22, with discounts available for students and preview performances. Group rates are also available.
