Free booklet available listing independent schools

North Side and north suburban parents interested in sending their children to private schools can find information on programs at local independent schools in the “Parents’ Guide to Chicago Area Independent Schools,” 2005 edition, available free of charge by writing to Chicago Area Independent Schools, Box 558007, Chicago, IL 60655 or e-mailing info@independentschools.net.
The guide provides information on the range of independent schools in the Chicago area. Some schools offer traditional, classical curricula while others emphasize gifted education or the arts, according to the Lake Michigan Association of Independent Schools, which published the booklet. The guides answers questions about choosing a school as well as application procedures.
