'College Majors that Work'

Higher education analyst and college president Michael Viollt’s newest book in a series has been published. The title is “College Majors That Work: A Step-by-Step Guide to Choosing and Using Your College Major.” The cost of attending college has sky-rocketed over the past few years which means prospective college students need to have a very good idea of what they want from a college education before they start college. The book will assist in this process. This is the third in a series of books that focus on issues prospective college students and their families must consider when choosing a college or university.
Michael Viollt’s first book, “ The Best 200 Colleges for the Real World,” describes how the process of selecting a college has changed and evaluates colleges based on the new criteria. In his second book, “110 Ways to Cut the High Cost of Attending College,” Mr. Viollt addresses how to make the most of scholarships and financial aid, while also revealing lesser –known tips to augment those common but vital resources.
Michael Viollt earned a B.S. from Loyola University, an M.Ed. from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, and an M.S. from the University of Notre Dame. As president of Robert Morris College he has increased institutional aid from $230,000 to $15 million. Mr. Viollt has held a variety of positions in educational institutions for nearly 30 years.
