Conceived, choreographed and directed by Denise Wise, Columbia College Chicago theater professor, Everybody Dance celebrates the joy of dance and the joy of life—no matter what your age or ability. Enjoy this free performance as college students waltz with senior citizens, youngsters recreate ancient Aztec ritual dances and college students and golden gals team up to put a unique spin on a "Stomp"-style performance piece.
It all happens Friday, Feb. 25, at noon, in G.A.R. Hall, Chicago Cultural Center, 77 E. Randolph St., second floor, free and open to the public. For more information, call (312) 744-6630.
"Best of Times" presents these performers: Columbia students—Chris Beach, Brad Bukauskas, Matt Calloway, Alex Hashioka, Gabriel Trulson, Phillip Tyler, Keith Woodley and Columbia professor Dennis Wise; and Admiral residents—Audrey Chesner, Madalyn Cullen, Rita Gleason, Christine Meerstein, Phyllis Miller, Lita Pierce, Connie Steinke, Charlotte Stitzer.
"Flame of Peace" features Sabin Magnet School Students (grades K-6).
"Stomp Meets Nursing Home" brings together Columbia College Chicago Theater students—Chris Beach, Matt Calloway, Gabriel Trulson, with ladies from the Admiral.
"YoYo" is conceived and performed by Columbia student Spike McGuire. |
