Correction: Concertante di Chicago concert date

Concertante di Chicago, one of the most respected symphonic ensembles in the Midwest, has announced an event of unique importance to the Greek, Georgian and Armenian communities: The first program ever by a Chicago professional orchestra devoted entirely to Greek, Georgian and Armenian composers. Due to a production error, a previous announcement of the concert carried incorrect date and price information. The correct information follows.
The concert, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at the DePaul University Concert Hall, 800 W. Belden Ave., will present Despair and Hope: Sharing History of Georgia, Armenia and Greece.
The program consists of Giya Kancheli, ...a la Duduki; Alexander Arutiunian, Concerto for trumpet and orchestra (in one movement) with William Camp, trumpet; Kostis Kritsotakis, Mandolin Concerto with Dimitris Marinos, mandolin.
Music director and conductor Hilel Kagan commented: ""We wanted to introduce Chicago music lovers to our vast cultural treasures. There are so many of them and they are so rich, but these works are not getting the hearing they deserve."
The strong inspiration of these works is given the richness, range and color of symphonic sound.
The orchestra, now in its 20th season, is largely made up of members of the Lyric Opera orchestra.
Tickets are available at the door: $35 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for children. The concerts are refreshingly upbeat and include a reception following the concert. For reservations or more information, contact (312) 346-9006.
