Business of Art Conference

The Chicago Artist’s Coalition (CAC) will present their 21st annual Business of Art Conference on Saturday, March 19, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Roosevelt University, 430 S. Michigan Ave., Rm. 426. Pre-registration is $15 for CAC members and $20 for non-members; $20 and $25 at the door, respectively. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Attorney William Rattner will speak about legal issues regarding contracts, copyright, consignment and other legal issues. Paul Dorrell, author of "Living the Artist's Life," will discuss his experience in the art business and offer advice on a range of topics including how to get commissions and the process of getting work in galleries. A panel of professionals will discuss the health insurance crisis facing artists.
The Chicago Artist’s Coalition is a non-profit visual arts organization. Services include lectures, salons, an information resource center, slide registry, job referral service, Web site online gallery, health insurance, a national credit union, and numerous publications including Chicago Artists News, a monthly newspaper.
