Chicago Special Events Management acquires exhibit production company W. E. Murphy

Chicago Special Events Management (CSEM), a leader in outdoor special events production, has purchased W. E. Murphy & Company, a major Chicago exhibit design and production company.
W. E. Murphy (wemexhibit.com), a 21-year-old company located on the West Side, designs and manufactures trade show exhibits for Fortune 500 companies such as BP Amoco, McDonald's and Merck as well as CVS Pharmacy, Kitchenware product manufacturer Bradshaw, and hardware manufacturer rep Creeden & Associates, as well as portable exhibits for more than 90 colleges and universities for their off-campus marketing efforts.
CSEM, located in Lincoln Park, has been producing popular citywide events since 1988. Among the more than 100 annual community festivals, runs/walks, street fairs and sporting events produced by CSEM (chicagoevents.com) are the Wells Street Art Festival, AIDS Run & Walk Chicago, Northalsted Market Days and Taste of Lincoln Avenue.
“We’re very excited about the potential synergies between the two companies, “ said Hank Zemola, CEO and founder of CSEM.
Under CSEM’s purchase arrangement, William (Bill) Murphy, owner/founder of W. E. Murphy, along with his wife, Joyce, will remain active management partners in W. E. Murphy & Company for at least three years.
The two companies currently have a total of 24 full-time employees.
