Traditional hand-painted Pysanka eggs
Find gifts perfect for Easter at the Illinois Artisans Shop Spring Equinox Art Spree in the atrium of the James R. Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph St., Wednesday and Thursday, March 16 and 17, 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Selected members of the Illinois Artisans Program will exhibit and sell fine craft items that celebrate the coming of spring. German Palm Sunday & Easter at St. Alphonsus
The public is cordially invited to attend the German language liturgies at 9:15 a.m. on Palm Sunday, March 20, and Easter Sunday, March 27, at St. Alphonsus Church, at the corner of Wellington, Southport and Lincoln avenues. The celebrant on Palm Sunday will be Rev. Theodore Twarog, and the Easter Sunday Mass will be concelebrated with the pastor, Rev. James Hurlbert, and Rev. Twarog. The mixed chorus will sing traditional German and Latin hymns under the direction of Alfred Schoepko.
The German Choir of St. Alphonsus Church will celebrate its 50th anniversary on June 26, with a special Mass at 10 a.m. with Francis Cardinal George as principal celebrant. For all these years, the choir has been under the direction of Alfred Schoepko, who is also the organist. A banquet will follow in the afternoon. Lincoln Square Easter Egg Hunt
Don't miss the Lincoln Square Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26, at 10 a.m. in Giddings Plaza, 4731 N. Lincoln Ave. The event is open to kids 12 and under. Meet the Easter Bunny in Giddings Plaza, where you’ll receive an Easter Egg bag and a punch card, while supplies last. Easter Bunny to visit North Side parks
The Bunny is coming to town, and he's visiting several North Side Chicago Park District locations. Come out and enjoy an egg hunt with family, friends and your dog. Activities may include a photo with the Bunny, face painting, arts & crafts, refreshments and much more. This will be a most egg-cellent family treat! Locations and activities are listed below.

Just for dogs, $5
Egg hunting has gone to the dogs! The Chicago Park District invites residents and their furry friends to the second annual egg hunt for dogs. The registration fee includes a hunt for treat-filled eggs, a bonnet parade, refreshments and pet information booths. For an additional fee, owners can receive a color photo of their dog. Dogs must be kept on a leash, and owners must stay with their dogs at all times.

Breakfast with Bunny at Rainforest Cafe
Children of all ages are invited to join the Easter Bunny for an eggs-traordinary breakfast at the Rainforest Cafe. Guests will enjoy a "knee-high" breakfast buffet, including a variety of favorites such as French toast sticks, waffles, scrambled eggs, hash browns and assorted cereals. Following breakfast, children will scramble to find the most eggs in the Easter Egg Hunt and then have a special visit with the Easter Bunny. Children will receive complimentary gift bags, as well as a chance to win one of several special giveaways. Reservations can be made with Rainforest Cafe to ensure a place at the holiday breakfast with the Easter Bunny.
The event takes place Saturday, March 19, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., in the Rainforest Cafe, 605 N. Clark St. The cost for adults (13 and older) is $9.99, and the cost for children (4-12) is $7.99. Children three and under are free. For more information, call Rainforest Cafe at (312) 787-1501.

Easter Egg Hunt at 20th District
The 20th district Police Department — Youth Services, 5400 N. Lincoln Ave., will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26, promptly at 10 a.m., for ages 2-10. Wear an Easter hat and win a prize. Enjoy a coloring contest. Remember to bring your camera and take photos with the Easter Bunny. Watch Easter cartoons after the Easter Egg Hunt.
