General Schwarzkopf to speak at Myeloma Benefit Dinner

General Norman Schwarzkopf will give the keynote address at the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Chicago Awards Dinner, at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in the Four Seasons Hotel. Schwarzkopf is a longtime friend of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) and recipient of the 1999 MMRF Leadership Award for his role in raising the visibility and awareness of cancer.
"As a prostate cancer survivor, General Schwarzkopf has been an important spokesperson for cancer awareness and research, and an inspirational voice for thousands of cancer patients and advocates," says Kathy Giusti, president of the MMRF. The General was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1994.
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) was established in 1998 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization by twin sisters Karen Andrews and Kathy Giusti, a newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patient, with the unique mission of accelerating the search for a cure for multiple myeloma. Today, the MMRF is the world’s number one funder of myeloma research, a pioneer in building interdisciplinary scientific collaborations, a leader in professional and patient education, and a powerful advocate for patients living with the disease.
