DANK Chicago North and The German-American Police Association have joined forces and are hosting their Annual Spring Dance on April 16. DANK stands for Deutsch-Amerikanischer National Kongress. At recent DANK events, delicious food has been painstakingly prepared. DANK Nord member Dr. Erika Liljedahl has become affectionately known as the "Krautmeister" for her proficiency in creating the most delicious sauerkraut this side of the Atlantic. Two hundred pounds of sauerkraut will be prepared for the event along with other German-American taste treats.
Doors open for the event at 6 p.m. so you can enjoy your meal before the Paloma band starts playing at 7 p.m. The Egerländer Dancers will be performing their precision dance routines during the band breaks. Advance tickets are $8, and babysitting is available (RSVP for sitting). The event is expected to sell out, so buy your tickets now. The dance will be in the beautiful sixth floor ballroom of the historic DANK Haus at 4740 N. Western Ave. Ethnic attire is not only welcomed but encouraged.
