Police this week resolved a mystery when they followed a team of burly men carrying home a booted car. Careful surveillance revealed the men struggling to remove the boot and then tossing it into the basement. A search warrant turned up 114 boots in the basement. The city's Budget Office congratulated the officers for solving the mystery of the department's dwindling supply of boots for illegally parked cars. "Some people just do things the hard way," said Sgt. Cooter "The Booter" Looney.
